Social Meetup for the LGBT...QA Community
We host social events – large and small alike – and make sure all newcomers are welcomed as much as possible. Our goal: To help people meet those in their community and build an inclusive community for all!
We're oriented toward those of all professions – student or otherwise – in the 22-to-40 age range and in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, but all are welcome to our events, including allies.
Our events are managed though Meetup. Our next event is listed below, but we likely have more events planned on our Meetup page
. Explore the links above or widget below to find out more!
“Sometimes chill, sometimes cray-cray, and always filled with kind and fun people, QYP is one of my favorite things about my new life in Michigan!”
— Brian Minalga
First Event: Happy Hour (November 2014)
“I've gone to a few events thus far and have met some very cool people. Everyone I've met has been fascinating, engaging and kind. I can't wait for the next event!”
— Derek Martin
First Event: Cider Mill & Haunted House Visit (October 2014)
Who We Are
We're a social club for the LGBT...QA community. We host social events such as happy hours, house parties, and outdoor gatherings. Feel free to contact us/me (patzabawa
@ gmail. com) if you'd like to host an event!
The group is oriented toward anyone – regardless of professional or academic status – in the 22-to-40 age range and in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, but all are welcome to our events, including allies.
QYP isn't a legal non-profit and doesn't have an organizational structure — it's simply the work of Pat Zabawa. However, there are many official hosts and non-official leaders at each event working hard to make sure everyone feels welcome and our events are running smoothly.
Who I Am
Hi! I'm Pat Zabawa, founder and leader of QYP. I'm a Detroit, Michigan-area native who attended the University of Michigan, moved away from Ann Arbor, and later moved back to the area. Not finding any active official LGBT...QA groups for area non-students in my age range, in October 2014 I decided to start one!
I hope that you're able to make some new friends and get to know your community through this group. Please feel free to reach out to me regarding anything at all — this group is yours!
